Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani was appointed as Managing Director of Malaysia Airports on 1 August 2024. He brings over three decades of experience in investment, finance, and corporate management, with a strong record of leadership in both government-linked and private sector organisations.
He currently chairs K.L. Airport Hotel Sdn Bhd, KLIA Aeropolis Sdn Bhd, MAB Agriculture-Horticulture Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd, and Urusan Teknologi Wawasan Sdn Bhd. He also serves on the boards of Malaysia Airports Consultancy Services Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd, İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Uluslararası Havalimanı Yatırım Yapım ve İşletme A.Ş., and SGC Havalimanı İşletmeleri Ticaret ve Turizm A.Ş. Beyond Malaysia Airports, he is a Board Member of Institut Jantung Negara and the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF).
Dato’ Izani’s career spans leadership roles across major organisations. He served as Executive Director of UEM Group Berhad in January 2019 before being re-designated as Managing Director later that year. Prior to this, he was Executive Director, Investments, at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, where he also headed the Turkey Regional Office and previously served as Chief Financial Officer. His earlier experience includes roles with Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd and the Renong Group.
He has also contributed to education and talent development as a Member of the Board of Governors of Kolej Yayasan UEM and Trustee of Yayasan UEM.
Dato’ Izani holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics), specialising in Accounting and Finance, from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and a member of both the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (CIIFP).
