Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn was appointed as Director of Malaysia Airports on 26 February 2025. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Employees Provident Fund (“EPF”), where he leads the organisation in safeguarding and growing members’ retirement savings. Within Malaysia Airports, he serves as Chairman of the Board Nomination & Remuneration Committee.
He began his career in 1996 with UBS Warburg Dillon Read (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as an Equity Research Analyst before holding roles in financial institutions and corporations including Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad. From 2009 to 2014, he served as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Danajamin Nasional Berhad.
He later joined Khazanah Nasional Berhad as Deputy Managing Director and Head of the Financial Institutions Group and Strategic Management Unit. In 2020, he was appointed President and Group Chief Executive of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), a role he held until 2024 before assuming his current position at EPF.
Ahmad Zulqarnain holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Harvard College, Harvard University, USA.
