Bryan John Thompson assumed the role of Chief Airports Officer at Malaysia Airports on 9 May 2025, overseeing the strategic growth and operations of the Group’s airports in Malaysia.
He brings over 30 years of international experience in airport development, operations, and leadership across the MENA region, Asia Pacific, and Africa. Bryan has a strong track record in operating airports, P&L management, large-scale infrastructure delivery, and aviation strategy for major global hubs.
Prior to joining Malaysia Airports, he served as Senior Vice President, Aviation and Regional Director for MENA Aviation at AECOM and as an Operating Partner for GIP. Bryan was the Executive Director, Airports at Neom Airports. He also served as CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports Corporation and held senior leadership roles at Dubai Airports, Mumbai International Airport, Melbourne International Airport, and Johannesburg International Airport.
Bryan holds an MBA from the University of South Africa and has completed the Board of Company Directors programme with the Institute of Directors Australia. He has served on the ACI Global Board and was Chairman of the ACI World Operations, Safety and Technical Standing Committee. Bryan has also held board positions across both the commercial and non-profit sectors.
