RESPONSE ON TEMPORARY POWER DISRUPTION IN KLIA TERMINAL 2 (KLIA T2)

SEPANG – At 2:15 PM today, a temporary power disruption occurred at KLIA T2 due to a flashover incident involving cable termination.

We wish to assure the public that airport operations were not affected during this incident. Our essential power systems, including backup generators, activated immediately, ensuring uninterrupted functionality of critical systems such as baggage handling, check-in counters, and flight information displays.

Our technical teams responded swiftly and professionally, rerouting power from an alternate substation and successfully restoring full power supply within 28 minutes. All essential services remained operational throughout. A full report of the incident is currently being prepared for submission to the Minister of Transport.
