Runway 3 At Kl International Airport Declared Partially Opened For Departing Flights

Rehabilitation Works On Runway 3 That Started On 11 May 2018 Are On Schedule And Will Be Fully Opened On 7 June 2018

SEPANG - The planned rehabilitation works for Runway 3 at KL International Airport is on schedule as Malaysia Airports announced its partial opening yesterday, 1 June 2018, for departing flights. The first flight, AK6110 safely took off at 5.30 am. The rehabilitation works that started on 11 May 2018 is scheduled to be completed on 7 June 2018. Runway 3 is expected to be fully opened and operational by then. The scope of works include pavement overlaying work and reinstatement of infrastructure works such as drainage and earth works.

As at to date, we are pleased to note that no flight delays due to the closure of Runway 3 have been reported. The airport operator constantly engages with all vested stakeholders such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), airlines and ground handlers to ensure the successful completion of the rehabilitation works as well as smooth flight operations during this period.
