Sepang, 27 May 2014 – klia2 safety and operational efficiency will continue to be the top priorities for Malaysia Airports and it welcomes the Government's move to appoint independent experts comprising of IKRAM Premier Consulting and International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to further enhance safety as announced by the Acting Transport Minister Y.B. Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein. 

Malaysia Airports is fully supportive of this initiative and will provide its full assistance and cooperation to IKRAM and ICAO respectively to look at ways to enhance safety. Malaysia Airports will work closely with the authorities, airlines and all the stakeholders to ensure that all safety requirements and standards are maintained and that operational efficiency is not compromised in any way.

klia2 has been operating smoothly with all the systems working efficiently since its opening on 2 May. To date klia2 has handled 1.32 million passengers and 8500 flight movements.
