Response to Article in NST "Airasia Gets Short Shrift", 6 May

Kuala Lumpur, 6 May 2014 - Malaysia Airports would like to respond to the article published in New Straits Times today entitled "AirAsia gets short shrift".

AirAsia had planned to build a car park for their own staff together with its Head Office. However the construction of this AirAsia complex has been delayed.

In January 2014 AirAsia had requested for space to construct a temporary open car park for their staff next to the terminal beside Malaysia Airports' staff car park. Malaysia Airports had agreed for this space to be given to AirAsia at preferential rates. AirAsia has not taken up this offer for their staff.

As such, as a temporary arrangement until AirAsia's car park for its staff is ready, Malaysia Airports has made arrangements for AirAsia staff to park at the long term car park at RM 45 per month with free shuttle provided by Malaysia Airports every 15 mins for transfer between the long term car park and klia2.

The long term car park has perimeter fencing, is shaded and well lighted with security personnel. CCTV will be installed at the long term car park using the equipments from the current LCCT once it is closed down.
