CENGKARENG - Citilink Indonesia officially launches new international routes from Denpasar to two destinations namely Perth in Australia and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia starting today 8 November 2019.

Citilink's CEO Juliandra said that these new international routes are strategic and will be able to attract the millenials travelers. "In addition to Australia, the route from Denpasar to Kuala Lumpur also has quite a promising market, especially foreign tourists from Kuala Lumpur who want to take a vacation to Bali," he said.

According to Indonesia Central Statistics Agency (BPS), foreign tourists from Malaysia and Australia has the highest number of visits to Indonesia. Malaysian tourists rank first place with the highest number of visits, reaching 2.34 million visits and Australian tourists rank fourth with 1.02 million visits during January-September 2019.

Denpasar-Perth route vv. and Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur vv. are the 7th and 8th international flight route of Citilink alongside other international routes that has been operating before such as previously Citilink has opened various other Jakarta-Penang, Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, Surabaya-Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta-Phnom Penh, Denpasar-Dili and Denpasar Kunming.

Juliandra also explained that Citilink Indonesia is optimistic to reach its Seat Load Factor (SLF) target of 75% in Denpasar-Perth and 77% on the Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur route considering that Bali is Indonesia's most well-known tourist destination.

He added that as an airline that has been awarded as the LCC 4 star version of Skytrax for 2 consecutive periods, Citilink prioritized passenger service and comfort including having a fairly extensive configuration with spacious leg rooms, as well as other latest services even though the ticket prices were quite affordable. "This is Citilink's advantage, which we hope will attract the society to fly with us on these new international routes," he added.

This route is also expected to be able to facilitate Malaysian and Australian tourists who have flights to Perth and Kuala Lumpur considering that both flights have a connected schedule.

The group chief executive officer of Malaysia Airports, Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin said, “Citilink Indonesia is one of the airlines that has been actively opening new routes from Indonesia to KL International Airport (IATA Code: KUL) and Penang International Airport (IATA Code: PEN). Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur is the airline’s fourth international route between Indonesia and Malaysia after Jakarta-Penang, Surabaya-Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur. At present, there are five other airlines that are operating this route from KUL. The total passenger movement for the Indonesia-Malaysia route has seen an increase of 4.9% from January to October 2019 as compared to the same period last year.”

Denpasar-Perth flight schedule with flight number QG 542 operates every day using an Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers at 01:00 - 04:40 Local Time. While the Perth-Denpasar route with flight number QG 543 operates every day at 09:40 - 13:30 Local Time. With this schedule tourists from Perth can arrive in Denpasar just before the hotel check-in hours and when they return to Singapore they can still enjoy the afternoon and sunset in Bali.

Meanwhile, Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur flight with flight number QG 525 operates every day using an Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers at 14:45 - 17:40 Local Time. Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar route with flight number QG 527 operates every day at 18:35 - 22:05 Local Time.
