SEPANG - Earlier today at 11.00 am, the KLIA Aerotrain service was temporarily suspended due to water accumulation in the tunnel caused by heavy rainfall. The tunnel's drainage system includes pumps designed to handle water ingress during severe weather conditions. However, one of the drainage pumps experienced a technical fault during today's heavy rainfall, preventing the automatic removal of accumulated water.

As a safety precaution, train operations were suspended until the water was manually cleared and the tracks were confirmed safe for use. Service resumed at 12.15 pm once full clearance was obtained from the technical and safety teams. We are currently rectifying the pump system to ensure optimal performance during future weather events.

Transport service to the satellite terminal was uninterrupted during the incident, with passengers using the airside shuttle bus services. The aerotrain is currently back in regular service.

Malaysia Airports remains committed to providing a safe, seamless, and reliable travel experience at KLIA. Our technical teams continue to monitor the Aerotrain system closely during these early stages of operations to ensure any operational adjustments are promptly addressed. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we fine-tune this new system.
