LANGKAWI - Langkawi International Airport (IATA Code: LGK) is currently upgrading its air-conditioning system in phases at specific areas of the terminal from now till 15 March 2019. Areas that are affected by this upgrading exercise are the check-in counters, customs office, Nooodles Restaurant, international and domestic arrival halls as well as the domestic departure hall.

According to Jefry Ramli, the airport manager of LGK, “This is a follow through from the recently completed expansion project of our terminal. As we are done with the expansion, we are now looking at upgrading the areas that were not involved in the expansion.  Thus, enhancing the air-conditioning system is our first exercise for 2019 in our bid to provide a comfortable travelling experience to passengers.”

“After the recent successful expansion project of the terminal, LGK can now cater to 4 million passengers per annum. Hence, the upgrade of the air conditioning system is important to ensure that the airport’s basic facilities are functioning well to meet the increasing number of passengers,” Jefry further added.

As a mitigation measure in ensuring the continual comfort of the passengers during this upgrade, the airport has placed portable air coolers at the affected areas during this upgrading period. Passengers who require any help can approach our ground team for assistance.
