ALOR SETAR - Following an aircraft-related incident at 5:00 PM today (6 May 2025), the runway at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (AOR) is currently closed to facilitate the removal of a Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) aircraft and subsequent runway clearing works.
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued, and the closure is expected to continue until 10:30 PM tonight (6 May 2025). During this closure, all flight operations at AOR will be impacted.
Passengers, including those travelling for Hajj, are advised to check with their respective airlines or Lembaga Tabung Haji for the latest flight information.
The airport will provide further updates once the runway is declared safe and open for flight operations by the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM).
